A chorus of cousins
The purpose of this post is to give the reader some information about my family tree, for reference purposes.
I’ve already covered immediate family, grandparents and uncles, but I’ll include reminders herein where it’s not inconvenient. For weddings, funerals and other events that have occured since this post was originally written in October 2006, please refer to the Family category.
Uncle Rodney (Mum’s brother) married Sally, and their children from oldest to youngest are Susan, Caroline and Nickola. They’re all younger than my sister and me, and I can remember when Nickola was born, but they’re all grown up now.
Uncle David (the middle child in Dad’s family, Dad himself being the youngest) married Sue, and has three children. Rosemary and Kaye are twins, and Laura is their younger sister. They are all grown up now but I can still remember the day that the twins were born.
Uncle Brian (Dad’s oldest brother) married Helen, and their children are Robert and Bronwen, both older than me. Brian later divorced and married Desri, and Helen married Darryl. They all remain friends.
Robert married Katrina (I mentioned that in an earlier post) and have children Kate and Leah. Bronwen married Matt Howland, and Mikayla and Anniekah are their daughters. Bronwen later divorced, and is now engaged to Katrina’s brother Daniel Minchin (so that side of the family is getting rather complex).
Update: Bronwen’s wedding to Daniel took place in March 2007. The following photograph shows the relatives listed immediately below.
Back row: Me, Dad, David, Sue, Robert, Rebecca, Ellis, Darryl, Leah, Brian, Desri. Middle row: Helen, Mum, Katrina, Daniel, Bronwen, Laura, Rosemary, Kaye. Front row: Mikayla, Anniekah, Kate.
The boys in my generation are, as you can see, vastly outnumbered by the girls. And in the next generation, there are not yet any boys at all.
